Tailored training for every individual and company profile — from first-flight Open category through Specific category STS operations and bespoke enterprise programs. Officially recognised by the Latvian Civil Aviation Agency to legally issue certificates across the EU.

Certificates that
actually carry weight.
RAW Drone School is listed in the Latvian Civil Aviation Agency's public register of recognised entities. That means every theoretical exam we administer and every practical assessment we conduct is directly accepted by the CAA — no re-testing, no parallel paperwork. Certificates are valid across every EASA member state.

Training Programs

Duration
3–5 days blended
Format
Theory + full practical assessment on RAW airfield
Operators declaring under STS need pilots trained and assessed to the standard scenario's syllabus. We deliver theory, invigilate the CAA online theory exam, and run the full practical skills assessment at our own airfield and test centre — everything in one place.
Every operator profile
gets its own syllabus.
CAA courses define the legal minimum. Operational excellence is built in the hours after that — on your platform, with your payloads, against your SORA.

EU 2019/947 &
CAA Latvia guidance.
All EU UAS operations are governed by Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/947. Operations are grouped into three categories — Open, Specific and Certified — based on the risk of the flight, not the size of the drone. In Latvia the framework is administered by the Civil Aviation Agency (CAA).
Operators must register with the CAA before their first flight; the registration number is unique per operator and must be displayed on every UAS in the fleet. RAW Drone School guides every client through registration, category selection and pilot certification as part of onboarding.
droni.caa.gov.lv →Category
Open Category
Low-risk operations: sub-25 kg, VLOS, max 120 m AGL, no overflight of assemblies of people. Subdivided into A1, A2 and A3 depending on drone class and proximity to people.
Category
Specific Category
Elevated risk requiring an operational authorisation, an STS declaration, or a Light UAS Operator Certificate (LUC). Requires SORA-based risk assessment and trained remote pilots.
Category
Certified Category
Highest-risk operations equivalent to manned aviation: transport of people, dangerous goods over assemblies, or large UAS. Both aircraft and operator require certification.
